Meet the Team

Our instructors are experienced EMS Professionals with years of service in the Emergency Medical Services field. A.D. Quality EMS Training Inc. is an accredited training institute by the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Services.

Al Deshler - Founder

Al Deshler founded A.D. Quality EMS Training, Inc., inspired by his personal journey with renal failure. Despite the challenges of dialysis, he began sharing his expertise and discovered a passion for teaching. Al’s background in the fire service and as a paramedic helped him expand his instruction to various EMS topics. Al’s mission is to cultivate a community of professionals who share their wisdom and experiences, empowering others to embark on their journey in the medical field.

Kelly Deshler - Director

Kelly is an EMT Basic, AHA Instructor, and an Instructor Coordinator for BLS. Born and raised in Worcester, MA, Kelly has been instructing EMT courses for over 15 plus years. She has worked for private companies, supported local sporting events. She previously instructed at her family’s company Quality EMS Educator’s Inc. She loves to instruct and share her knowledge with others. During her off time she enjoys her family, friends, the ocean, and reading books. Married the Founder and enjoys working with him.

Jeff Swenson, Operations Manager

As Operations Manager for A.D. Quality EMS Training, Jeff Swenson oversees the EMT program, instructor recruitment, and daily training operations. Since joining the team in 2021, he has played a key role in developing future EMS professionals and fostering instructor growth. Jeff has served with the Ayer Fire Department since 2015 and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant, bringing valuable real-world experience and leadership to the classroom. A resident of Groton, Massachusetts, he enjoys spending time with his family and hitting the golf course in his free time.

Charles "Chuck" Dillon - Operations Manager

Charles Dillon is a highly experienced paramedic with 29 years of service with the Ayer Fire Department. With an impressive 41-year career in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, his dedication to public service is truly admirable. Married with five adult children, Charles also dedicates his time to A.D. Quality EMS Training, where he imparts his expertise to new EMTs, finding fulfillment in witnessing their growth. Outside of work, he enjoys working with his five dogs on detection work, as well as hunting and camping with his spouse, fostering a deep connection to nature and family.

Dave Gambino - Manager

Dave Gambino is a manager at our Palmer location, where he oversees training operations and leads the organization’s AHA programs, including BLS and ACLS certification and renewal courses. With a passion for education and professional development, Dave is committed to helping healthcare providers and EMS professionals build the skills and confidence needed to succeed. Outside of A.D. Quality EMS Training, he serves as a Lieutenant and Paramedic with the Ware Fire Department. When he’s not working, Dave enjoys spending quality time with his family.

Chris Whynot – Manager

Chris Whynot is a manager at our Palmer location and a seasoned public safety professional with 24 years of dedicated service in Fire and EMS. A paramedic for the last 19 years, Chris combines extensive field experience with a passion for mentorship, having served as an EMS educator for the past 7 years. In addition to frontline response and instruction, Chris is an active member of the Massachusetts Fire District 7 Technical Rescue Team, specializing in high-stakes, specialized rescue operations.

Kaila Moorcroft – Instructor Coordinator

Kaila Moorcroft has nearly 20 years of EMS experience, including 14 years as a paramedic. As an Instructor Coordinator (IC) and AHA instructor at A.D. Quality EMS Training, she’s passionate about mentoring the next generation of providers, believing that quality education shapes the care they deliver. Kaila has served as an FTO and preceptor in both city and rural settings. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, cheering on the Boston Celtics, and spending time with her husband and three daughters.

Tyke Lothrop – Instructor

Tyke Lothrop is an instructor with A.D. Quality EMS Training who supports training operations at the Leominster headquarters while continuing to grow as an EMS educator. He recently completed his Instructor Coordinator clinical requirements and will soon be certified to lead his own EMT courses, marking an exciting milestone in his teaching career. Outside of the classroom, Tyke serves as a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic, bringing current field experience and a passion for patient care to every training session.

Bryan Patch – Instructor

With a background as a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic and previous service with the Holden Fire Department, Bryan Patch brings valuable field experience to his role as an instructor with A.D. Quality EMS Training. He is currently enrolled in the Massachusetts Instructor Coordinator program, continuing to expand his knowledge and teaching skills. As a CPR instructor, Bryan is passionate about helping students build confidence and develop the skills needed to respond effectively in emergencies.

Amanda Drinkwater – Assistant Manager

Amanda Drinkwater is an integral part of the A.D. Quality EMS Training team, bringing passion, dedication, and heart to everything she does. Recently promoted to Assistant Manager, Amanda plays a key role in supporting our EMT training programs, coordinating training logistics, and developing instructional content that enhances the student learning experience. Outside of A.D. Quality EMS Training, she serves her community as an EMT and Call Firefighter with the Shirley Fire Department.

Amanda Drooker – Training Assistant

Amanda Drooker is a Training Assistant with A.D. Quality EMS Training, supporting instructors and students in the classroom and skills lab. She also works per diem with Shirley and Lancaster Fire, bringing real-world EMS experience into the training environment.

Chris Cotter – Instructor

Chris Cotter is an IC Instructor with A.D. Quality EMS Training and leads the Nashoba Cadet Program, helping high school students explore careers in EMS and public safety through hands-on training and classroom learning. He plays an important role in introducing cadets to the basics of emergency care, teamwork, and what it takes to become a first responder. Chris is also a Paramedic, working per diem with Pepperell and Townsend Fire, as well as a full-time dispatcher in Groton.
